Why does my headphones automatically turn on and go into pairing mode?

My headphones automatically turn on and go pairing mode indefinitely unless they are being charged. Might have something to do with the ribbon cable attached to the power button but no guides on how to access that on the XM4 model.

Did you solve it? I have the same problem after it was exposed to rain back in November.

Yes, since it was under warranty I had sent it to the Sony Repair Centre where they fixed it for me free of charge.
