Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't

I bought a Samsung refrigerator at Lowe's. High end with a video screen. The water / ice dispenser works sometimes. Then it may go a day where it won't fill with water or ice. When the cup is placed on the switch, no light comes on- and nothing dispenses. Sometimes you count to 30 with the cup on the switch and it will work.

It's so irritating so such an expensive appliance.

We've tried the filter, but no idea why the light won't even come on.

What is the model number of the refrigerator?

If it is new, check the warranty provisions for the refrigerator as most manufacturers provide a 12 month warranty on their refrigerators and even longer (5-10 years) on the sealed system components i.e. compressor, evaporator unit, condenser, piping, 3 way valve (if applicable) and the filter dryer, in the refrigerator.

If it is still within the 12 month warranty period check the warranty to see what to do to get a manufacturer's warranty repair, refund or replacement.

It's 4 years this year. I took out the filter and it still has the same hesitation. Put the cup into the dispenser hold it, there are no lights coming on, about 20 seconds later the water or ice dispenses. Sometimes it does not dispense

The problem does not come under the sealed system parts so the warranty is no longer applicable. The sealed system parts however are most probably still covered though

What is the model number of the refrigerator?

Knowing it will help to maybe find out what the problem is.
