Apple Logo fades in for about 1 second, then a blank screen for 15 sec

Hey everyone.

I recently replaced a battery on an iPad Air 2 and as soon as I attempt to turn it on, it will show the apple logo fading in slowly for 1 second and then immediately go to a blank screen with the back light on for about 30 seconds, then it turns completely off.

When I plug it in, it turns the backlight on for the duration that it is plugged in, then turns off about 15 - 30 seconds after being unplugged.

I have tried multiple batteries, and this ipad has had batteries replaced multiple times due to being used as a Point of Sale system at a local shop for a couple years.
