What is the newest motherboard I can use to replace my old one?

I wanna try and revive my old macbook which is getting dusty because of its broken keyboard and low performace.

You are limited to either the 2011 or 2012 logic boards this series used. As an example the most powerful is this MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2012) 2.9 GHz Logic Board

As you can see this board is not cheap! So consider if this system is worth the expense. Often the battery also needs replacing and Mojave is the highest supported OS release.

Is there anyway to fit a modern logic board in? Would it be compatible with the io? I don’t mind using a hot gluegun or soldering it myself.

@hathies - I wish I wasn’t so tall! Being 6’7” limits me trying to get in and out of a car and I can’t sit straight up and no one can sit behind me as I need to rack the seat as far back as it can go inside!

So if I get a surgeon to cut a few inches you think that would work?

Clearly that’s not going to work! So I’m stuck being uncomfortable when I get into friends cars or Uber!

Sadly, your system is what it is and you just can’t make that radical a change! Time to look for another system which offers what you need.
