Power button/Touch ID not working after fan cleaning

Hello all,

The power button of my laptop seems not to work after I cleaned the fan disassembly. After putting the pieces back, the laptop didn't turn on when pressing the power button but then turned on by connecting to the charger. Then I noticed the unlock by touch id is missing. And I can't lock screen or turn off my laptop by pressing the power button anymore.

I guess there may be some cable issue when I put the parts back, but with the power button not working, I'm not sure if I can turn it on since I need to turn it down to check those cable (Still don't know how it turned first time after the cleaning). Does anyone has suggestions about how to fix this? or can I jump start the laptop if I can't fix the button?

You’ll need to review your ribbon cable connection of the power button. Hopefully you didn’t damage it as you can’t replace it getting back TouchID as it’s married to the logic board.

Your only hope is to let Apple fix it, but they may tell you a logic board replacement is needed $$

Sorry 😢
