How do I remove the power button from the keyboard?

I'm trying to replace the power button from my keyboard as it can't reach the power switch inside for whatever reason. However, there is a metal plate covering the inside of the keyboard (picture attached) which I can't figure out how to remove. There are black screw-esque things holding it in place but they can't be unscrewed. I need to know how to remove this plate so that I can get to the power button and replace it. Please tell me what I need to do.

Are you certain it is just not a bad contact? In the "The power switch among the main circuit boards" photo isn't that circular part an electrical contact? And on the switch in photo "The power button encased between the plate and keyboard". It looks like it could do with a clean with 99% Ispropyl alcohol. What do you think or have you alraedy tried that?

@aactech I've not tried isopropyl alcohol yet, thank you for telling me. As for the power switch photo, the switch does work when I press it, but the external power button has a hard time connecting with it. For reference, I dropped the laptop a few days ago, which is how the button was damaged. It's either displaced or cracked. I'll try cleaning it with alcohol but I don't think it will work.

This a tactic I've seen on other Acer Products (a Chromebook specifically) in liew of using screws they use something akin to rivets, only plastic. It looks like this makes use of the same method.

I unceremoniously ripped the one I was looking for out of the housing. I used an exacto blade to shave the plastic away. I got the key board out, but it lost most of its rigidity since you can't just screw these back in and the only mounting screws were in the corners.

You can try something similar. Perhaps someone has an idea for how to keep the keyboard from sagging.

Otherwise you can probably find the whole palmrest assembly for sale and replace that instead of just the problematic key.

Looking at the board now I think that's the best I can do. It does have screw holes so I can still keep it in place afterwards. Thanks a lot for helping.

@absoluteplonker Yes. The Chromebook I repaired had screws in the corners, but nothing to keep it from sagging in the middle when you press the space bar or any of the centrally located keys.

There's probably adhesive you can use, but I would be hard pressed to think of something that would hold up to the repeat abuse a keyboard undergoes.
