Let's see if I have this right. Your machine is booting with or without the battery. Your battery is charged to 90% capacity. Your only problem is that it says the battery is not charging right now. If this is correct, then remove the Magsafe and boot from the battery and let it drain to 50% then reconnect the magsafe and see if it charges. If your problem is that last 10% of battery charge, live with it.
