Hi

Have you tried wiping it using disk utility/disk manager?

When I get these sorts of errors that usually fixes it

If not try reseating the battery and hdd connections

Here’s a guide for that

iPod 5th Generation (Video) Hard Drive Replacement

Hopefully this helps

Any questions please ask

Thanks:-)

Disk utility was having a rough time loading disks and it couldn't see my iPod, I don't have tools to open the device and the hard drive has a loud high pitched noise and it clicks plus it has 12 pending sectors and 146 reallocs would that be the problem?

Hi

Just from telling from the noise that it makes that is most likely the issue

To add to that 12 pending sectors is quite a lot so replacing the HDD is probably the fix and of that doesn’t work ether a battery or a Logic board

Thanks:-)
