How to turn off if screen is broken

Is there a way to turn off an iPad mini 6 without the screen swipe. The screen is broken and I can't do that.

There is not. The only way to turn it off if you cannot swipe the power off is to disconnect the battery internally, or let the battery run out.

It's one of my biggest frustrations with with iOS and I could never figure out why this isn't an option. It's frustrating and absurd.

@flannelist I couldn’t agree more! It is beyond me how a device (which is >98% screen) is 100% dependent on the screen to work in order to turn off. I get that this is the preferred way, but they should at least have a backup way to power off, via a button combination or something.

Of course there will be times when you need to completely power off without being able to use the screen. A snowball has a better chance in Hades, than for that scenario to never happen!
