My phone wont charge and stuck at 0% while on

My phone is stuck on 0% while being charged but it doesnt even say its charging, it makes the noise but nothing appears. It shuts off every few seconds when i get on it and its really annoying. Last night I was playing with my dogs and they got bit to excited and ran off the couch and accidently took my charger and phone with them which unplugged the charger from its port, about an hour later it started doing all this. I dont know what happened but its really annoying can anyone help me? (My mom told me she got it from one of her friends for a little cash, I've told her that the phone could be a fake because it freezes a lot and we've had a few problems with it)

First thing I would do is check to see if another charger makes a difference. Next on the list would be make sure the port is free of debris. Give it a quick inspection using a flashlight and see if there is any lint or dust caught in the port. It's pretty common for there to be a layer of crud compressed into the back from being repeatedly forced into the port every time you put a charger in it. You can use a toothpick or something non conductive to gently (be mindful of the pins) clean it out.

But if you're still getting the same result after that, it sounds like the lightning port (charger port) might have been damaged in the incident. Depending on the sorts of issues you've have it could have already been borderline faulty anyways.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, I have ran into a few cases where the battery just wasn't plugged in properly. If that doesn't work, try a new battery. Sometimes the motherboard welded to the batteries can go bad and will show 0%, and that means you will need a replacement battery. Lastly, if that does not work, the phone likely has a component missing on the motherboard essential for battery data. If your phone vibrates when plugged in it clearly registers the charger but the battery is not telling the motherboard how much it is charged. I hope this helps and if you have any questions please let me know.

im having the same issue, just recently with my iphone 12 mini. I had recently swapped my battery for a new one because the old one was bad. Last night i dropped the phone and the battery percent suddenly said 0 and it keeps bootlooping.
