Register a used 1st Gen Firestick to me.
A friend gave me his 1st Gen Firestick. How do I register it to me so I can use it?

@jim hough Try this: plug the Fire TV Stick into your TV's HDMI port and plug the USB cable into a USB power supply (do not plug the USB cable into your TV). Wait for the device to boot up, then press right on the directional pad and the back button simultaneously for 10 seconds. When you see the pop-up on your TV, select "Reset".

Thanks Andrew. Unfortunately I don't have the system remote. Was going to use a Firestick Remote App from Playstore! I've since logged into my Amazon account and going to try again.

@jim hough Unless there is a reset button on the Fire Stick, I don't think there would be any other way to reset it. I also don't think there would be any way to set up the Wi-Fi on the Fire Stick without having a physical remote. Usually you need to connect to Wi-Fi to use those remote apps. You can new aftermarket remotes for about $7, for example https://www.ebay.com/itm/114503814441
