Hardware swap to better read dual layer discs?

Hey guys. I think my CECH-3001A slim model PlayStation 3 has difficulty reading dual-layer discs, but I am still troubleshooting to see if that is the actual problem I am dealing with. If it is.. are there any hardware parts I can swap out to where reading dual-layer discs is no longer an issue?
