Hi I actually looked at the laptop again and since it doesn't load fully I had to look on the bottom of the laptop to find the serial number and Dayte of the device. it says 2010. would this make a difference in the solution to my problem?

Lets give this a try can you pull your drive and put it into a SATA to USB case or adapter like this one SATA to USB Adapter Cable

Now using First Aid can you get it to work?

If you can your systems HD to SATA cable needs replacing MacBook Pro 15" Unibody (Mid 2012) Hard Drive Cable following this guide MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2012 Hard Drive/IR Sensor Cable Replacement

hi don't know if you got my last response but I got the year wrong for the laptop. it is a 2010 not a 2012. will the sata still work?

door

@xstreamgamerdad - I would still try using the drive externally. The cable is for the 2012 system so that won't help you in the 2010 system.

Are you able to get that to work?

door

when you say use the drive externally what do you mean? sata case in today wasn't expensive at all. by what you day do you mean hook the drive up to the computer using the sata case and try doing first aid that way?

door

@xstreamgamerdad - Take your drive out of your system and put it into the case or use the adapter cable. Now plug in the USB connection and restart! What happened?
