Missing Touch ID Cable Bracket

Hello, I am trying to repair a the home button on an iPhone SE. When I opened it up the touch ID wire was disconnected and the bracket is missing. Can I reconnect it without the bracket? Do I need to solder it? Or should I strip it out and install the new button I've got?

These brackets are not essential for the home button to function correctly. About 40% of the repairs I have done on the SE the brackets have been missing. I use to supply one when re-assembling the phone until I ran out, after that I just connected the home button without the bracket and never had any complaints.
