Can I put a keyboard from a late-2008 MacBook Pro in a mid-2012?

Hi guys!

I’ll ask my question straight, Read further to know why I’m asking it ;)

Can I swap the keyboard in a mid-2012 unibody MacBook Pro with one from a late-2008 Unibody MacBook Pro?

My dad has a mid-2012 15” but he has problems with the replacement keyboard I put in it when I got it for him. (the 6 key stopped working and D and F are acting up as well) I know for sure it’s not the logic board since the OEM keyboard it had worked just fine, I replaced it because the previous owner spilled cream on it, making the keyboard smell like death. There was NO liquid damage AT ALL inside of the laptop, it got caught in the backlight.

I recently rescued a late-2008 15” MacBook Pro with parts from a dead one I had laying around so I’ve got a donor Original unibody MacBook Pro. Since they are pretty much identical from late-2008 all the way up to mid-2012, I’d guess most of beyythe main parts are interchangeable but I can only be so sure, so I’m turning to you guys! Thanks a lot!

Sorry. that 2008 will not work. The 2009-2012 use a different one.

Get one for the A1286. It’s cheap, here’s one for $15.90 shipping included
