MacBook Pro Early 2013 Fans not working

About a month ago I replace my Macbook battery from iFixit. I have noticed lately that the fans no longer spin up even when my device is overheating to 200 F. Even under stress tests the fans won’t turn on. I used a Mac Fan Control so they definitely work, reset SMC but nothing, and reinstalled OS. Any ideas?

Lets fully remove MacsFan control as it maybe the cause! Your fans are working, just not at the needed output, like they are being held back!

While I'm happy you are using a better tool TG Pro! The data I need to see is whats not visible in the screen snapshot! You'll need to fiddle with the window size and zoom to get all of the sensors to be visible in one snap, or you'll need to scroll down and take a second snap to get the ones hidden as quickly as possible. Let's get another hot capture like your second snap getting all of the sensors.

Also what is your RAM and SSD storage (if you upgraded it what do you have)

And lastly, how about taking a snapshot of this gem of an app! CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window and post it here for us to see as well.

Well, it looks like your heatsink has failed! MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Late 2012-Early 2013) Heat Sink and MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Early 2013 Heat Sink Replacement

The heatsink has fluid within it which moves the heat, sometimes the tube leaks so the heat sink can’t shed the heat out of the fins! So the heat mass is hot but the proximity sensors are not showing the heat in the correct proportion! Around 20~30 ℃

You’ll need to apply a fresh coat of thermal paste [gekoppeld product ontbreekt of is uitgeschakeld: IF179-010]. Just don’t over do the paste! 9 out of 10 systems I see have too much paste! You want the paste only on the black silicon chip! It doesn’t take that much as it spreads out across to a very thin layer.

@danj would I need to replace the entire heat sink or just the thermal paste

Sadly once the heat transfer tube is empty it can't transmit the heat from the mass on the CPU to the fins!

Yes! You need a new heat sink
