JBL Pulse4 speaker connected to Chromebook but no sound

Hi, Im pulling my hair out trying to figure out wth is going on here. I have both a BRAND NEW HP Chromebook and a BRAND NEW JBL Pulse4 Bluetooth Speaker. I have repeatedly tried doing the same simple steps over and over with absolutely zero luck!!! Although I am able to pair and connect my speaker to my Chromebook, but still there is NO SOUND!!! The connected to speaker sound does chime when they connect, but my videos, music will not be played through the speaker. Is anyone out there privy to the secret to how to get these two devices to interact? It would be wonderful to be able to use both before they are obsolete and out of style!!!
