Weird buzz and static when listening through headphones

Sometimes, while I’m listening through my headphones, my sound will suddenly cut out for a split second and then cut back in with a weird buzzing and static over whatever sound that’s playing. It won’t do this when there isn’t sound playing and it doesn’t seem to be an issue with my headphones as they work on other devices without issue. Any help with this issue would be much appreciated, thanks

How are you connecting your headphones via the wired connection (headphone jack) or via a USB DAC unit or Bluetooth?

How does the speakers sound?

@danj

Wired connection though the auxiliary cord is interchangeable. I’ve tried different aux cords but they have the same results.

I don’t know, I don’t really listen to audio through the speakers at all

just now

Go into a quiet room and give a listen via the speakers - Do you hear any issues?

I hope you mean the 3.5-mm Headphone Jack. Technically, there is no auxiliary jack in this series.

Yes, that's what I meant, my mistake

I tried listening out for the static while my headphones were off. I didn't get it in the same way I got it on my headphones but, sometimes I'd hear a loud buzz when I paused something with sound which is something that happens with my headphones too

At this point you really don’t have much of a choice as you clearly have a logic board issue if you hear the issue on your speakers. ;-{

Time to visit an Apple Store or Apple authorized service center. As your system is still under warranty.

HEY @glitchypix listen the static noise is not a repair with your mac. It is the prob with your macs charger.I am experiencing the same witha 2019 16" macbook pro. Try unplugging the charger. U will notice that the static noise has gone completely. There is not solution for this currently. But soon i will let you know.

Regards,

Noman
