MacBook Pro 15" Retina will Not Turn On

MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Late 2013 will not turn on. MagSafe Power Light turns green for 1 second then turns orange and stays orange. Have replaced the battery and charged for 24 hours. During this time, the MacBook was warm initially then eventually cooled off. Nothing happens when pressing the power button, whether plugged-in or not. Pressing shift+control+option+power button turns the MagSafe Power Light to green for 1 second then back to orange. The power adapter and MagSafe connector have been tested on other MacBooks successfully.

I’m suspecting you have a knockoff MagSafe charger which has damaged your logic board. The market place has become flooded with these cheap knockoffs as Apple stopped fighting their importing into the EU & US.

You’ll need to replace the charger with a REAL Apple unit Apple 85W MagSafe Power Adapter (for 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro)

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. However, the adapter is the original Apple MagSafe charger that came with this MacBookPro.

While that deals with the first part, you still have a logic board with a problem. Are you a heavy gamer or do heavy graphics? The GPU in this series has had issues as well.

@danj no gaming has been done on this MacBook, the graphics load has primarily been web videos, otherwise email and word documents. what kind of logic board repairs are needed?

Hard to tell... I would need to test things to narrow it down. You'll need to find someone with the deeper skills to diagnose your logic board. The other option is to replace it. If you only have 8 GB or RAM then maybe its time to jump to a 16 GB board.
