Is there a CMOS battery?

Hello !

I have an issue with my BIOS where i can’t change a thing in it and after several tries on installing different Linux distributions, it keeps failing to boot after the asked reboot at the end of the installation.

I can’t find the CMOS battery on my motherboard to hard reset the computer to factory mode, and I’m a bit ashamed lol !

If anyone can help me, i’ll take it ! Thanks in advance !

When the ACER logo appears, press and hold ‘‘Alt+F10’’ until screen changes. Hopefully you won’t need to dig for the battery.

It doesn’t work at all ! This combination of keys don’t make a thing and I can’t edit anything other than the date / hours + the user password on the Bios, the others are grey

Then this seems to be an 1-way. Try to find a trustwotrhy disassembly guide for your acer. Blueprints are hard to find normally, so youtube might be the best choice.

That's why I posted here, I didn't find any blueprints or videos with my computer in two days lol !

These Acer "Cloudbooks" use a capacitor backed CMOS RAM, with a reference BIOS setting stored in NVRAM. If the machine has problems with saving BIOS settings, it is due to a bad primary battery, as it is held with a supercapacitor on these. I do not see a CMOS battery on the motherboard on this laptop.
