A1502 MacBook Pro chimes but then shuts off

So basically my A1502 mid 2014 MacBook Pro will end up having the fan spin up, then the screen will light up and it will chime, but then it will shut off when I was trying to clear the EFI password off of my MacBook that I forgot the password to. I’ve tried reflashing the EFI and doing some SMC resets, with no avail. I don’t know if there are other ways to fix this.

Sounds like you corrupted the systems firmware ;-{

Time to visit an Apple Store to get a replacement logic board, tell them all you did was upgrade to Catalina ;-}

Otherwise review the logic boards listed here MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Mid 2014 Logic Board Replacement and just replace it your self.

Could I also go the route or completely wiping the EFI and then installing a new EFI that matches my EMC and model number?

Have you ever tried pumping water from a hand pump? You need water to create the vacuum so the pump can pull the water out of the well.

We face the same issue here. Without having a clean image file you can't program the chip.

To add to it Apple uses a method of encryption on the newer MacBook Pro's that prevents alteration of the firmware. So unless you have the magic tools from Apple you can't do it.
