PS4 WLOD after plugging into a HDMI booster + missing component

After plugging my PS4 Slim (F-chassis, board SAF-003) into a HDMI booster, I immediately lost signal. I’ve tried several monitors and several cables and it has definitely gone kaput.

I’ve tested the EMI filters and all are OK (continuity to pins and no continuity between pins). I’ve tested all the diodes and they seem to be fine, and no obvious shorts anywhere in the circuit. Readings attached. Is the encoder chip probably knackered?

Also, unfortunately I shorted the right-most 5-pin SOP package in the image while testing, and had to remove it for the board to start up again. Has anyone got any idea what this component is/what I can replace it with? (Update, I’ve found that PSDevWiki has listed all the regulators used in the PS3 here - the PS3 HDMI circuit looks really similar to the PS4 circuit - I may eat my words but I think this part is an NCP511SN25T1G SOT-23-5 LDO, as this is the only one listed that steps down to 2.5V).

Thanks in advance!

slight stab in the dark but from my experience at work with HDMI issues it’s normally the HDMI port itself or the HDMI transmitter, the chip that sits behind the HDMI port ( https://www.eeshops.net/images/Sony-PS4/... ) if you can get a new transmitter try replacing it if no one else has a better answer for you.

Liam did you find the correct part number od LDO voltage regulator? I have a problem with the left one with my PS4 Pro. It has a week voltage and have no signal on the screen.

Hi, I was never able to confirm it unfortunately - I replaced the part with an ADP151AUJZ-2.5-R7, which was the closest match I could find to the NCP511SN25T1G in the post - still had WLOD, I ended up selling it to someone else. Unsure if the LDO was the incorrect part or if the problem was elsewhere.

You should measure voltages against ground. Chip pins: 1;enable = 3,3V, 2; GND, 3; no connect, 4; output, example 5V, 5; input, example 12V.

Juha, what you said seems to be true. But i cant find any sot-23-5 with that pinout. All of them have 1.Vin, 2.Gnd, 3.Enable, 4.Vout, 5.NC. i cant use Chinese sites as chiense import is banned in my country

You could measure voltages directly from HDMI port. Pins 1,3,4,6,7,9,10,12 about 1V. Pin 13 about 3,3V. Pins 15,16,18 about 5V.
