Vizio TV shut off will not turn on

I have a Vizio 50in TV I was getting into bed when I hit the remote I don't know if it shut off on its own or if I did it but the TV shut off and will not turn back on I tried unplugging the power supply when I plug it back in the TV turns on then off really quick( the red light in the corner turn on but then off really fast). When I went to check the back of the TV the phone jack Outlet was still lit up. The TV has been perfectly fine up to this point. please help!!( when I plugged it back in the wall the little light in the corner came on then it dimmed off, still won't turn on)

I have had this same problem and found out it was a little capacitor that the video part of the unit needed to power it up. I looked it up online found out the exact one and went to the local electronic store and purchased it for pennies on the dollar. Then installed it works great. Hope this helps…

Hi,

More details will be useful as no doubt there are more than one little capacitor on the board , e,g which capacitor (component ID on board), was it obvious that it was faulty (blown, leaking etc) or did you have to test to find it etc.
