Surface pro - second faulty screen?
Hi guys,
I have a Surface Pro 5 (2017). I cracked the screen a little while ago and replaced it with one from ebay. This screen was faulty - it had a yellow band around the edges and the touch screen was poor - it had phantom touches, areas that were unresponsive etc.
So, I bought another screen. This one has a strip along the left edge of the screen about 2 inches wide that only intermittently responds to touch input. I’ve tried all the software fixes I can find including driver reinstall, Surface Toolkit repair, complete OS re-install etc but the problem remains.
Is it possible that I have two faulty screens or could this problem be due to something else?
Update (05/07/2020)
So, I’ve replaced the screen, digitiser cable and digitiser board.
Initially it was all working fine. Touch and pen input worked great. Tonight I’m starting to get patchiness in the touch responsiveness. Drawing lines in Paint skips in random spots on the screen.
This is driving me crazy!

Update #2
The touchscreen actually works ok if the TypeCover is disconnected! But if I reconnect the TypeCover touch input goes all patchy and spotty again.
Is dit een goede vraag?
To be honest i will never buy a surface pro

@technochicken I'm certainly never buying another one. It's the worst piece of consumer tech I've ever owned. Ever!
