My Galaxy s9 keeps rebooting and I already tried putting it in safe mode to see if it was an app and it still rebooted, and I factory restore the home and it still reboots and now it also will shut down and won’t turn back on until you press the power button, the phone was fully charged

If you’re having a similar problem go to your settings and turn off the fingerprint scanner, for some reason using your fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone causes the phone randomly reboot

Yo bro... thank you so much. I shut off the finger sensors, and it hasn't rebooted or shut off randomly.. just want people to know that this works if nothing else didnt..

This saved my phone. My phone was restarting over and over after a required software update a few days ago. I tried and everything, including a factory reset, but it didn't stop. After seeing this post I turned off the fingerprint scanner and it's back to normal. Thank you so much!
My phone totally death just because of this after an update.Had sen t for repair for replacing power ic and charging ic cost a lot of money (RM).After repair now the phone suddenly turned off by itself n rebooting again randomly.Try to perform this step I will see the progress for few days. I was wondering this problem occured because of a firmware update or other technical issue.
Another grateful "customer". I turned off the fingerprint scanner and the constant rebooting seems to have stopped. Thank you so much!

When its connected to power doses the phone stay on? If so than probably a battery issue. Replace battery

I figured it out, it was the fingerprint scanner for some reason having the fingerprint scanner on will cause the phone to reboot
This solution didn’t work for me. Any other suggestions. I troubleshot all the way through factory reset. But still having the issue.

My phone turns off by itself and tries to restart at least ten times before actually restarting. It does this at least ten times daily. I've tried everything possible even factory reset and nothing works. Bought my phone brand new on eBay in September. But can't get exchange or refund because its over the warranty period.
Im having the same exact problem with my Samsung galaxy S9. Bought off ebay about 6 months ago. Was supposed to be new. Think i paid 350. It updated 2 days ago and ever since has been shutting down all through the day. Its making me crazy. I have to turn it on when i notice its turned itself off.
Frustrating.
I simply can’t use the screen while it opens again, and then the screen freezes completely to turn off again. FWI, little rainbow light on the top left corner when its reboots! It’s been doing this for an hour now…

Seriously thank you so much. I was about to trash this phone. I believe it is a water issue, so I'll deal with that later, but so glad I can actually use my phone again

It works!!! Some one changed my battery about a month ago, I wonder if it is the reason. Oh well, at least I can keep my phone, saved me a few hundred dollars.
