Why won't my microphone work even after replacing charging board?

My Samsung S9 Plus SM- G965U took a hard hit and broke the rear glass and the microphone quit working. I had a shop replace the back and the charging port board, but the mic still does not work. I replaced that board with an aftermarket one I bought on the internet. It did not fix the mic issue. I bought a genuine Samsung board that came from a working phone and tried it. The mic still does not work. I was going to test the mic on a set of headphones, but now I also notice that the headphone jack does not work. Nothing happens when I plug in a set of headphones. I connected a set of bluetooth headphone and the mic works this way. All functions of the phone work, the screen is not damaged, sound works, touch works, fingerprint reader works, wifi works, sim card works and I can make calls and text if I use bluetooth. I have also factory reset the phone twice. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I ended up buying another S9+ unlocked version that had a cracked screen and lcd. I took the motherboard out of it and put it in my phone. This fixed my issues. The new motherboard accepted my Verizon sim and now my mic and headphone jack work again. The damaged phone cost me $100. A new rear cover was $12. Phone is like new again.

Were you certain the port from the donor device was functional'? And did you buy the right variant according to your model? There are I believe two different variants of charge ports for Galaxy S devices.

The first board was replaced by a repair store, it is labeled SM-G965U_SUB_REV0.b. The second board was a new aftermarket part ordered for my model SM-G965U. The 3rd board was taken from a working “demo” phone SM-G965XU, it is labeled SM-G965U_SUB_REV0.7h

I think if i not wrong, the problem is not with the charging port flex, because the charge port and mic are in desame connection.

Did you try to replace just the mic piece part?

Any thought on what could be done to fix this? The mic and the headphone port are both on this board, so that is why I thought replacing the flex board would fix it. As far as I see, the only other option is to replace the motherboard. Possibly, it is the connection between the two boards, but I have no way to tell. There is nothing visibly wrong. Not sure I want to spend the ~$150 on a motherboard when it may not fix it.

Having the same issue. Exactly the aame one. Even doesn't work with bluetoothhead phone yet charger board charges phone still. Someone said they can fix problem on motherboard. Will let you know
