My screen goes gray

So basically, I dropped my iPad in the kitchen, and went to a mall place to get the screen fixed. Unfortunately, the glass they used was just a smidge too big so the right side by the home button is slightly raised. You’d think it’s no big deal, right? Well, when I apply pressure to this spot, the entire screen goes gray. Completely opaque. Any audio continues playing, but no visuals and no interacting with the screen. I have to turn it off and wait for a few seconds to fix it. Is this a concerning issue? What do I need to do to stop this from happening?

I doubt the screen is “too big”. What probably happened is that the housing was dented or even bent/warped which causes the replacement screen to not sit completely flat on the housing. Check the corners of your iPad to see if that have dents and put the iPad on a flat surface to insure that it is not bent or warped. The shop may have missed this.

When I get iPads like this, I remove the dent or work the housing as flat as I can. Only once did I receive a device that was warped to the point where I couldn’t flatten it enough for the screen to sit properly.

Hey @refectio I used to dread working on iPads with warped corners due to lack of proper tools, I either bend it back by hands or putting on my blacksmith hat and hammer it with a mallet...until I came across this DIY tool https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDyY_udg...

very easy to assemble and does the job every time!
