I’m trying to setup my new Firestick but it keeps getting stuck on the joining network page. The screen shows a white box and the message includes a link to fireoscaptiveportal generate_204
Any ideas on what to do please? My internet is working perfectly on my other devices.

which type of frequency your wifi works on? 2.4 or 5 ghz?
If your router is syncing the two then there might be your problem (you should change the setting of your router to get out 2 ssid one for the 2,4 and one for the 5ghz and then you try to connect on one or the other to see which one works

I do not want to change any settings on my router as ‘all’ other devices and services appear to work without an issue, as does another fire stick on another TV, any other ideas?

i reccently changed passwords on my wifi
i changed password recently, cause could be time of day or due to my amount of activitie?!

It’s the BT home hub smart setup. Go into advanced settings on the router and disable smart set up. Everything will work perfect after!

i dont know how! everything wAS Fine, until i changed psw"s all other devises work ok!

Press the three lines on your fire stick remote and then press select and forget the network then find the network again and enter your password to log into your router again and go to the home screen on the fire stick and they should work if it doesn't work the first time repeat the process until it does this worked for me today on January 24th 2022 good luck

I tried but that didn't work either. I even tried with phone hotspot but it didn't work

Just do forgot network and reconnect it. It will work. I have did and successfully connected.
Same issue .. My solution was forgetting the network, resetting the firestick and reconnecting to the network again :) .. works fine now!
by resetting the fire stick you mean ?

bonjour, je voudrais que nous donne la solution pour installer OQEE by free avec amazon fire tv stick qui rend soin disant une ancienne tv en en téléviseur Smart , merci
eu ce problème aussi le 24 janvier 2022. SOLUTION : Réinitialisez le Firestick en usine et cela fonctionnera. Et si vous ne savez pas comment réinitialiser, maintenez simplement la flèche droite + le bas de la télévision (en bas) pendant 10 secondes et il vous demandera de réinitialiser le firestick. Merci

bonjour
moi jai le meme probleme. sauf que jarrive pas a me connecter a internet. cest ca le probleme. je suis dans 1 hotel. le meme depuis 2 mois. ca fonctionnait parfaitement puis soudain bam non!. le portail de lhotel saffiche, je peux entrer mon email mais quand je fais connection: il mamene a la page blanche err not responded. fireportal generate 204. jai tout essayé: débrancher la firestick, vider les caches, vider les cookies, essayer de passer par silk( mais je suis pas capable puisque je nai pas dinternet). a laide!!!!!!

I get the same screen, but in the middle of watching something. Rebooting everything seems to help but is really annoying.
