Plantronics Voyager Focus B825 Battery Replacement

Has anyone figured out how to open the headset to access the battery for replacement? Replacement batteries seem to be available https://www.ebay.com/c/10013570523 but I have no idea how to open the headset.

A little off this topic but related to this headset. Does anybody know if you can find other components such as the plastic components? Mine cracked on one of the sides and now it has completely come off. I don’t seem to find this piece anywhere. Would like to try and replace it.

A bit late I know , but I've just taken mine apart due to the same cracks and it looks like you cannot just change the plastic sides as the cables all pass through and are soldered to a pcb for each earpiece.

It comes apart in layers. Here are the pics. The Black leatherette cover of the earfoam just pulls off from the backside of it..just be careful!

Hi,

Can I suggest that you create a guide using the images that you have posted here, and post it on ifixit?

That way others in the future will be able to find it more easily rather than having to search through all the answers and find your good answer here.

Here's how to do this How to Create a Guide

Cheers.

This is great and got me a new battery... do the mods care if I copy it and link here?

Hi @markpleake

It is always helpful to supply links to suppliers of a part especially if they are hard to find or to state what has to be typed in a browser's search box to find suppliers of a part.

Alternatively post the model number (model type?) of the battery or any other relevant information from the battery that will enable other users to find it online as the supplier in the link you post (if this is the case) may not deliver to the location of the user

I only get suspicious if a user keeps promoting the same website only all the time as then it seems like it is just spam.

Cheers,

First of all, many thanks to jnesoff for the pictures. They encouraged me to change the battery because my headset only lasted about 2 hours.

But I made one mistake and I'm writing here to make it a little easier for others. My comment refers to the first picture. I tried to take the foam off and ended in cutting it into small pieces. In the process, I noticed that this is not the right way to do it, because the foam has a backing film that can be quite easily removed from the headphone housing in one piece. So when you are in this step, don't go between the foam and the backing film with the cutter knife, but try to get hold of the backing film and remove it straight away.

I was able to find the battery easily on ebay (Germany) - I'm sure it's also available in other countries. The part number is AHB403029.

Take pictures of the individual steps with your mobile phone, it helped me during assembly.

If you have the tools at hand, the whole thing can be done in about 30 minutes.

Good luck.

Can I ask how / what did you do to re-stick the foam into position?

Thanks

Very useful instructions, followed to the letter and worked perfectly. My battery was also only lasting about 2 hours. I found a replacement on alibaba, installed in about 30 minutes. From fully charged it’s now lasting about 14 hours!

Yo Marc, thank you for the tip about the foam having a backing film! That definitely saved me damaging mine.

Be careful when working down through the layers, as there are cables running through the middle which you don’t need or want to disturb in order to access the battery.

Replacing the leatherette cover is relatively simple (as long as you haven’t damaged it in removal, I suppose) - just turn the thing inside-out, place it over the earpiece and roll it back the right way out while in position. Then the edges just need gentle encouragement to sit in the slot neatly.
