screen goes blank then restarts application
When I go into an application it will work for a minute or two then go blank. After a short while it will restart the program and then go blank again

Sounds like your iPad is running too many things at once. Try closing other apps and close any open tabs you might have open in safari/other browsers.
If your iPad’s storage is almost full, try deleting some info/apps off the device until you free up at least 10% of the total device storage.
