Battery swelling, my back glass is now being pushed off

Around April I bought a battery replacement kit from ifixit for my Samsung galaxy s7 edge.

Over the past few days I've noticed my phone shutting down at 30%, with no shut down animation or anything, I'll connect it to the charger then pressing the power button will reveal that it is now supposedly at 0%(battery with lightning icon)

Additionally, the battery is slightly swelling, just enough that the back glass is coming off and I can't stick it back.

Is there any way I can “deflate” the battery safely or can I do anything with warranties as I replaced it only 4 months ago and don't want to buy another repair kit if possible

battery is definitely bad. I’m unsure personally of what iFixit’s return/warranty policy is, so you’d want to check with them for sure.

that said, don’t try to “deflate” the battery or anything. it will catch fire at best and explode at worst.

Edit: also when you go to remove it, try not to use any heat on the device. swelling batteries are quite dangerous, and even heating the screen too much can cause problems. use ispropyl alcohol to weaken the adhesive and try to remove with a suction cup or such. if you must try to heat it remove the motherboard first and keep a fire extinguisher handy. just for a worst case scenario.

Yeah I guessed that would be the problem. I'll try and phone them because I heard that unless I did anything to purposely damage the battery they will cross ship me a new one. I'll have to look.

Anyways thank you for your answer, the battery isn't massively swollen, I would say its 5-10mm thicker than it should be, but that being said I will try to avoid prying and go for adhesive remover.
