MacBook air drowned in water, does it look salvageable?

Hi all,

So my water bottle was apparently leaking over the table, where the mac was sitting and it got drowned in water for several hours. It was turned on with the lid closed. I let the laptop dry for 3 days and tried to turn it on.. but with no luck. I opened it up today and this is how the logic boards looks like right now.

I’ve ordered some 99% isopropyl alcohol and plan to clean it up. Does it look salvageable to you? Are there any really apparent problems that make it sure that I will not be able to clean it up?

Electronics hate 99% alcohol, It should be91 and also you have to use IPA to just give a just clean, you should not use it more, which will be counter productive.

What? Most guides mentioned using the 99% one and nothing less than 91%. I had a really hard time to find 99% instead of 91% and your comment now baffles me.

As you have already proceeded no need to get panic. All we can now do is just to wait to dry ur board.

Here,

The percentages of IPA is given to their level of evaporating states.

If u take 99 it will just evaporate in second.

When electronics get water damaged the IPA needs to evaporate the water(minute level), so we usually recommend 91 compared to 99

Also it is easily available.

Just wanted to update that this worked! Now just the mac doesn’t recognize the battery!
