It has died and won’t turn back on.

My Fitbit iconic has died. It had at least 70% charge. It went over night, and I’ve tried charging it, and forcing a restart. No good. It’s completely lifeless.

The Ionic is a bad product. There are so many owners whose Ionic has developed the same fault and won’t turn on. The Fitbit company is a bad company they offer no help or advice as how to get it repaired other than to keep stating their guarantee policy which is no good if your Ionic is just out of warranty, which most Ionics are.

Yes, it is a terrible product and Fitbit doesn't value it's customers or it would have fixed the defects or recalled the devices or at least stand behind them.

Given that there are so many users experiencing similar issues, I wonder if there would be any interest in launching a class action lawsuit.

Agree. Just happened the same to me. Customer Service suggested me to buy another Fitbit product. Stupid response. Ionic is not cheap but ir is the worst. Only one year and a half. Any other brand to look for?

Had my Ionic for 3 months and first the touch screen stopped working, then on a factory reset it died and won't respond. As I don't have my receipt CS said there is nothing they can do for me. I will NEVER buy any Fitbit products again and will caution anyone I chat to to stay the !&&* away from this brand!!

Hey guys, If you let tky fit bit go complete flat it won't recognise the charging cable went connected. I have found heating the unit up give the battery the needed charge in the battery to recognise the charging cable.

I did this hy leaving it in the sun for 10min , then holding down the 3 buttons ,turning it on and connecting the charge cable

My Ionic stopped working, I thought the battery was dead. I put it on the charger and it didn’t do anything all day. I found the link below and used the restart instructions and that worked.

I have a similar situation. My Fitbit Ionic has been nothing but trouble ! For the first few months, I struggled to get music on it - the first reason I had got this, was to have onboard music, during the routines. I was so demotivated, even gave up on wearing it. To put songs, you had to have a certain version of Windows and even then it wasn't so easy.

I managed to get it working, Fitbit even introduced Spotify, but for that they needed a year long subscription. I already have Amazon music, why should I spend on another app?

The straps are so difficult to find.

Then they come up with a firmware upgrade and my email/phone stopped syncing. That was still fine, but I did a factory reset via the watch and not the 3 buttons and NOW THE WATCH WON'T POWER ON AT ALL.

I have owned this for 18 +months and it has been an absolute waste.

My wife’s Ionic has the same problem. We fixed it by purchasing a Garmin instead. 1-1/2 years is much too soon for failure of a device allegedly designed for sport.

Did the same. No response from Fitbit. My Ionic was only 7-8 mos old and just died one day, showing no charge and would not start. Must admit I did not hold the 3 buttons to start all night long yet... Have ordered a Samsung Smart watch version 4 rather than pay 2-way cost of sending for repair with no guarantee Fitbit will fix it.

How about 2 weeks?

Hopeless.

Tried all the troubleshooting suggestions, also cleaned the connections, left on charge overnight, tried lesser powerful charge from laptop etc.

Nothing worked.

Two weeks after acquiring the Ionic, it was returned to BestBuy, who can replace only in 2-5 days (none in stock and none at any of their stores in the locality).  "When you get the email from us saying it's here, give it a few days.  We will then contact you by phone. It may be here but takes us a couple of days to process receipt with Covid etc."

Not happy.

Should maybe look for other options....

I got this ionic fitbit as a gift…8 months ago totally dead….I have tried everything….I would not recommend this watch to anyone ….it always had a issues….but I was able to deal with it now it will not turn on and I will not say anything to the gift giver ….it would upset her

This is my second fitbit Currently I have the Ionic-the first was Versa (which died/quit after 14 months). Fitbit “gave” me a 50% discount off another, so I got the Ionic. It is 6 months old, and it will not turn on. Wish I hadn’t purchased it

I had this same issues and I just charges it as normal and I continued to hold down the buttons to reset it for a long period of time and then it finally powered on

The first Fitbit I had broke and the customer service was great! They actually sent me a new one with no problems I have had this Ionic for a year and it has died I contacted CS and they talked me thru all the resets NOTHING

Since i had this one a year they offered me a 40% discount on a new one I was very disappointed with CS, my first experience was great I am out $350 I went and told everyone of the great CS Fitbit had and recommend Fitbit to everyone

Sadly never again

I just place my order for an Apple Watch
