Not charging when plugged in

Plug turns green, orange then fades to blank in quick succession once plugged in. Not charging.

For the past month or so the charger has intermittently not charged when initially plugged in but would light up and charge after reinsertion.

Not sure if i have a 1.33ghz or a 1.2ghz

(laptop doesn't have enough power to come out of sleep now)

Charger is the original purchased w/ computer in late 04.

45W model# A1036

Battery was still holding a charge for several hours before charger failure

Thanks for your help, was able to get an after market charger and it did the trick

To see which machine you have remove the battery and look on the side walls of the battery compartment. I believe the 12" was the 1.2 GHz and the 14" was the 1.33 GHz. Your problem could be the AC adapter or the DC-IN port. By your description I would guess the Adapter.
