iPhone 5s bootloop after waterdamage repair

I have an iphone 5s that went through the washing machine about last year in august and was sent in for repair one day later, and it was fixed and worked fine, but last month, this phone started to enter bootloops ramdomly. For the first 2 times that it entered bootloop, I could get it out by connecting it to itunes, restoring it and praying for error 9 or error 4014 to not appear, but now it is completely stuck on “looping” between the apple logo screen, a black screen and a off screen and is not detected by itunes. I know a logical person will probably buy a new phone at this point, but I want to know if it is a small issue like a bad battery or something that I can fix for cheap or if it is something like a dead logicboard. Thanks!!

Update (07/21/2019)

I forgot to mention that occasionally, the phone exits bootloop and works for about 10 seconds to 5 minutes.

A bad battery may cause such behaviour, but at this point there’s no way to tell without attempting a replacement. Chances of a late development of your past water damage exist, but in my opinion would be worth giving a try.

Now that I've thought about it, this phone did recently start to randomly shut down even when the battery percentage is at about 30 to 40 percent twice, which I thought was an iphone 6s issue. Someone on reddit suggested that water may of entered the battery or the battery was too degraded to provide a correct amount of power. Could this be a sign of the cause of this issue or is it something completely irrelevant?

@leohleh A worn out battery may cause unexpected shut downs even when percentage wouldn't normally justify it because it can't meet peak power requests any longer. The issue may show with any device, but of course we can notice it just when we have a percentage gauge.

For clarification, by bad battery do you mean a worn out one or a damaged one.

@leohleh Yes, that's it.

But if it is a bad battery, how can the phone sometimes work for as long as 2 months without bootlooping and also sometimes getting stuck in a bootloop every day?
