Distorted display and digitizer not working (?)

I just replaced a battery and installed brand new digitizer

After reconnecting all cables, I got the display working. However, digitizer (and possibly LCD) cables were not completely in and they possibly got loose.

Subsequently I made sure they were pushed in properly

In the process display got seriously corrupted, light blue colored. And digitizer does not seem to be working neither

I have not pushed in the front, digitizer plate as i want to make sure my iPod works first, at the initial power up digitizer seemed to work fine

iPod communicates with ITunes without any problem, and I managed to copy all of my music

Does anyone have any ideas of what the problem may be? BTW, part of the LCD is a "black hole", I suppose that part is dead, it was like that before the initial power up
