TV will immediately turn off when turned on

I have a Phillips Magnavox television that turns off immediately when I hit the power button. It is an older model (old school TV- very heavy….not HD), probably about 15-20 years old. I hadn’t recently moved it or anything like that. Any ideas on what it could be? Easy fix? Worth the trouble trying to have it looked at or should I retire the old heavy thing and move on to something slim and pretty?
