Why does the mouse quit working and the computer shuts down?
The picture stays on the screen and the cursor disappears.

Hi Larry,
Do you mean Mouse or Touch Pad?
If a mouse just unplug and plug back in again. This should reload the driver.
If the TouchPad then uninstall the driver, run something like Ccleaner to clear away any corrupt settings.
Reboot and re-install the driver.
