Bootlooped ZTE Zmax. Is it fixable?

So when I use this phone, the charger works only when its shut off for some reason so when I turned it off and charged it, It seemed to be full so when I powered it on, it showed “powered by android” then the metroPCS logo, then after that, it powers off then back on to the “powered by android” screen. I went into recovery and did a factory reset but that showed green vertical lines across the screen and it didn’t turn back on. I then tried to put a recovery image onto the MicroSD card but the phone just said “E:failed to mount /sdcard (no such file or directory) “. Anything else for me to try?

Yes, Its Fixable. First, Once the screen goes black, instantly hold down volume up and down and the power button at the same time, then release power button at the “powered by android logo” and the screen should go black and there should be a red led, and that means your halfway there to getting it fixed, now just wait for the led to shut off, because that means that its fully drained to 0%. Now Plug it in to anything, and when it says battery critically low, ignore it and let it bootloop, after a few minutes it should boot up and start working again. - Love, Brayden.

I'm currently stuck in the bootloop, I'm hoping Brayden's way works. Attempting this method atm.
