I've changed my magsafe adapter and the battery connector and I still don't get any signs of life from the power adapter. It will run off the battery but nothing with the magsafe power adapter. I'm positive the magsafe dc connector is good I checked in a good working macbook.

Sounds like a bad adapter. Check the voltages on the pin out on the right side of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MagSafe
