Battery charges, but green light only blinks once when turning on

I have a Vita PCH-2001 that I bought off eBay for parts and repair and I’m trying to figure out what the issue might be. The orange light turns on when charging and turns off when the battery is fully charged, however when attempting to turn on the system I am greeted by the brief flash of a green light and nothing else.

I am unable to get into safe mode, or make anything display on screen. I verified that the battery is alright by checking its voltage manually, and it sits at 4.18-4.2 volts.

Thus far, my only troubleshooting has been checking for water damage (none that I could find), and re-seating all the ribbon cables inside, which resulted in no change to the symptoms. It should be noted that this obviously included disconnecting the battery, which was what I originally tried thinking the issue may have been related to the previous firmware issue with Vitas.

Visually, I am unable to find anything wrong aside from some cosmetic scratches. Does anyone have any idea what the issue might be?

I'll post a picture here in a bit, but I actually did get mine working by absolute sheer blind luck, but I do know what it was that got it for me.

The group of resistors around the chip near where the battery connects, I accidentally bridged some with my multimeter while the battery was attached and it sparked. After that the system turns on now. I'll take a picture of the place I was probing in a minute.

oh really what chip was it so i cant try it?

I just posted the answer and the capacitors circled. It's what worked for me so hopefully it works for you.

I was able to recover it by complete accident by bridging some capacitors in the marked area while the battery was connected.

I cannot say whether this will be a solution for everyone, and to me seems extremely dangerous but it worked for me by some divine miracle.

Hi I’m having this problem too I replaced battery and I even tried to use tweezers and found a spot that made the vita light up blue but won’t turn on does this method work for anybody else ? Might have to take it to some tech people and show them this post to see if they can bridge it too
