iPhone 7 home button flex damaged.

Hi all

I have stupidly damaged the home button flex on a Iphone 7 and now will not work, after a close inspection of the flex I can see under magnification the tiniest of cut on the flex just before the flex bends close to the FPC connector, so if I replace the whole part will it function as a normal home/return button but without the fingerprint ID scanner?.

Colin.

Sent it off and had a micro-solder job done on it last week so that the touch ID would work again, all good now!

if you replace the home button it wont work as a home button and touch id wont work. there is however a special charge port you can buy and install that will allow the home button function to work just not touch id. https://www.unionrepair.com/new-charging...

or you can bring it to apple for a screen repair and they will fix the home button in the process.

There is a new homebutton that you can use that has the click function (home) but touch id dosent work, dosent need to change the charging port to use the newest replacing homebutton, just replace the homebutton.

If you want touch id to work a part of the flex cable need to be changed (microsolder)
