Does a 5s battery fit in a 5se

Technically, the battery DOES fit impeccably within the housing unit inside the phone, but doing so, you are taking a prolonged consequence to your potential battery life in your new device.

The iPhone 5SE runs the same exact system as the 6s, just a smaller version. Thus being stated, the battery cell from a 5S series cannot accommodate the demand of “needed” power that the 5SE needs to run without damaging other critical units. For example, phone becoming overheated causing damage to the digitizer and LCD cells in the display, or possible warping or spontaneous explosion.

Strongly advised, just order an entire battery pack from Amazon from a certified seller and install it. Better safe than sorry.

I understand that I cannot use the battery from an iphone 5s to power an iphone 5SE, but is the reverse true also? Can I use a battery designed for the iphone 5SE to power an iphone 5s?
