I think it’s the MagSafe board, duh, the battery doesn’t charge and the light stays green, that might make sense

I went ahead and replaced the logic board and the machine definitely works with no issues now

Way to much guessing going on here. First thing to do is verify what machine you actually have and we can see what the know issues are. The model you have listed did not have the nVidia GPU issue. Go to this link and insert your serial number and report back what you have. Next do you have any history on this machine?

I have both another MagSafe adapter and another Mac, the charger is fine, it is the late 2009 unibody model MC207LL/A, and as for the history, it has never been in contact with water however it has been dropped a couple times but remained functional afterwards

This might very well be a problem with the MagSafe DC in board. I suggest replacing it.MacBook Unibody Model A1342 MagSafe Board Replacement

@coreycusick It appears that getting a new Logic Board would be a good idea. iFixit sells the Logic Board you will need for this Mac for about 100 USD. Very reasonable!

Yeah I don’t know why that didn’t click, I already have another MagSafe board I will try and will go from there. I’ll post later to see if the issue is resolved

@coreycusick Sounds like a plan!

It appears to be a logic board issue, dang it

door

@coreycusick Phooey! Maybe @danj @mayer knows os some other troubleshooting before we conclude it to the Logic Board.

door

Yeah, I can only assume it’s the logic board or a power issue, just because of what the MacBook does, normally I don’t have this much trouble as I have fixed far worse than this, but I’ve never owned this model until a couple days ago and this particular issue seems to be a faulty NVIDIA GPU
