Has it worked OK before when you connected it to the laptop?
Does the tablet show that it is charging when you connect it via USB to the laptop?
Does the tablet recognize that it has been connected to a USB host (laptop) by providing a notification regarding USB connection type?
Are you using the USB cable that came with the tablet?
Have you tried connecting it to another computer to check if it is being detected OK?
