Hold switch to on but the motor goes on and off and on and off etc.. I though that it was filter problem but just replaced with a new filter but still goes on and off and on and off…

Random on-off s indicate possible connection problems. It could be anywhere, such as switch, battery connectors, cable lug or solder connections, or even motor brushes (unlikely if gadget is little used). If you can check these yourself fine; if not have a technician do the check.
