Laptop on its 2nd third-party battery. Both are malfunctioning.

I’m beginning to think upgrading to 10.12.6 might be the culprit, but haven’t tested the theory. I’m out of ideas otherwise. Anybody heard of this happening under these circumstances?

Maybe both are lemons. After all, I see through Amazon.com reviews that a lot of people are having trouble.

I’m on my 2nd third party battery. 1st by EBay’s ‘myelectronics’ . 2nd by SLODA.

Both started to malfunction soon after installation. Got a handful of charge cycles out of them, then they began to fail. Done the SMC / PRAM. No weird behaviour from logic board. Used multiple power adapters, etc.

Been limping this computer the last 7 months and it’s getting tiring. I’m on a budget, so I’m being persistent about figuring this out.

Went to Apple Store last night and they won’t touch the computer because it’s 5 years old. Seems they’re more interested in P-R-O-F-I-T.

Anybody out there have a A1369 OEM battery? Seems like a needle in a haystack.

I’m on the road with a dead computer and no screwdrivers to even open it up!

Can you install CoconutBattery and post a snapshot of the main window so we can see the batteries condition as well as its charging.

As per the original post: “I’m on the road with a dead computer and no screwdrivers to even open it up!”

Prior to battery death, Coconut Battery indicated all was well with the battery’s capacity and charging.

I was hoping you still had a little power left or a MagSafe charger. Only Apple offers OEM batteries and as your system is no longer serviced by Apple they won't offer you a battery either. Sorry.

The best you can do is get a battery from someone who makes the effort to test them and stand behind them. Here's the IFIXIT part: MacBook Air 13" (Late 2010-2017) Battery but you'll need to be in the North America or in Europe as LiOn batteries can't be shipped by air. You might find a forwarder in the states who can forward it for you or a friend who on the way home will carry it on the plane.
