May have shorted 6 pins on keyboard connector

After update 1803 and the associated firmware - my type cover for the SP3 stopped working. In my zeal to fix it (assuming a connection issue), I may wiped the bottom connectors of the SP3 (that connect it to a type cover) with water while the unit was running.

Did I short out the circuit? Or is there some kind of current protection in place.
