MBP 2010 MID R5280 & R5281 Location!

Guys ,

All in short , i was replacing my battery and accidentally touched the battery connector metal components with the screw driver .

there was a tiny spark and now MBP is not recognising the battery (x mark on batt)

magsafe is always green.

after much reserch , i have found that i will check some resistors around with the multimeter before giving up

so i have attached two highdef images of my logic board along with this

can someone good point me towards R5280 & 5281 so i can test them out

( Battery not recognized, battery indicator not working ) <-- solution source

i would like suggestions of any other components and how to check them .

please suggest me anything that u think that might help me .. ill be eternally greatful

all these favour requests are because im not greedy yet im extreemly poor and a student .

i have istat installed and its recognising all temps including CPU , FANS , GPU , BAttery Proximity so i think my SMC is fine may be?

Thanks guys!

'''Thilina Gdna'''  here is what you’ve requested.

Both capacitors are 1K 1/16W 5% in a 0402 package

Mate, you rock , just to clarify , in case if these two are giving me a readng less that 0.4xx such as 0.1xx or even 0 . i should replace these yes ?

Thilina Gdna not sure what values you are referring to. Those are capacitors and you would need to either have a capacitance meter or a eSR meter to check those. If the values you are giving are Ohm's then yes, replace them.

hey , yes I was talking about ohms.

Finally , can i just remove bad resistors and jump them ? with possibly a tiny wire maybe?

Thank you in advance !

I wouldn't since that could create a short. I'd replace the resistors.

You will need schematics and a boardview to be able to understand something of the board charging lines. Google around for board 820-2850 to find what you need. Once you have that, you should be testing U7000, an ISL6259 IC taking care of charging /sensing the battery and all related power and data lines.

Thanx arbaman,

BTW i have a multimeter , could you please let me know how to test the u7000?

thank you!

There's no easy way to explain how to test a complex circuitry...u7000 has got 28 pins, each with its own function and specifications. But fear not, I suggested to look for the schematic diagram because in there you will find everything listed and detailed with great precision, pin by pin, line by line. I would advise to take time to study it carefully, get yourself very fine tips for your multimeter and start probing, preferably with a very good light source and some magnification to avoid shorting anything incidentally. When you're done with that and you got an idea on what might be wrong or off standards just ask, somebody will help you shed some light.
