Home button still not working

So i have swapped many screen and so lastly put in an ifixit replacement home button and it still doesn’t recognize it. So could the be a part that burnt out when this one was destroyed by unknown forces ? I hate to just use the five finger gesture or digital home button. Which means the on/off button will have to be used to wake it up. Going to give it away as was the purpose of buying it anway but would like to know if there is a fix. Thabks for everyones help.

It's possible you received a defective replacement Home button. Barring that, you need to double check the condition of the flex cable on the button and the condition of the connector on the logic board. You'll also want to closely inspect the components in the area surrounding the connectors as they can sometimes get dislodged when prying the connectors off. If either of these are damaged, it would impede the proper function of the home button.
